The Town Roast will be a celebration of roasted Victorian produce held on Sunday June 21st.
The event will take place as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival ’s Put Victoria On Your Table Roast Collection. The state wide campaign captures the essence of seasonality and provenance through a series of one off events . We encourage creative interpretation of the Winter Roast theme with a focus on Victorian produce. As a highlighted event for MFWF we will be strongly backed by comprehensive advertising campaign . Stall theming should reflect a Regional Winter theme .

The Company will not be evaluating any application for the purpose of entering legal relations. Legal relations will only be contemplated if and when the successful applicant signs a Licence prepared by the Company. The Company reserves the right to act as it sees fit after considering applications received.

The collection of your personal information is required in order to administer your stall application or licence. If your personal information is not able to be collected, then we may not be able to progress your application or administer your licence.
QVM collects, uses, holds and discloses personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Your personal information will only be disclosed in limited circumstances, and generally only for the purpose for which it was collected, or otherwise as required or authorised by law. It may be disclosed to provide a reference for you to other landlords or their agents in respect of future tenancies, and to QVM’s legal advisors where required. Your name and contact details, and stall location may also be disclosed to members of the public for the purposes of promoting QVM and its activities.
The Queen Victoria Market will not be evaluating any application for the purpose of entering legal relations. The Company reserves the right to act as it sees fit after considering applications received.
The decision of the selection panel is final and is not open appeal.
The selection criteria, which will be considered in the assessment of applications for The Town Roast are summarised below:
– The types of food product, including the unusual and unique nature of the product, points of difference to like uses, compatibility with theme/focus of the event.
– The stall/site set-up, including attention to aesthetics and any physical constraints.
– The Applicant’s retail and business experience and financial situation.
– Flexibility and ability to fit in with other stallholders and to work with Queen Victoria Market management, and any other matter considered relevant to the application.
– Produce must be seasonal and sourced from Queen Victoria Market
The sequence of the above criteria does not imply any relative priority. Furthermore these are not the only criteria upon which the assessment of applications is made.
Briefly outline your proposed food and stall concept. Stalls are 6×3 meters only. Your only require-ments are that the food be Roasted (including slow cooked, spit roast and carvery style meats) or fit within a Sunday Roast theme. Be creative! Produce must be sourced from Victorian producers only. Your stall should reflect a Regional Winter theme. You will be required to bring your own marquee
Stalls, dependent on location vary between 3m x 3m and 6m x 3m.
Stall set up will be to a standard approved by Queen Victoria Market and in accordance with its merchandising guidelines. Stallholders must comply with the operational requirements of the Market and direction of QVM staff.
Traders who require to bring a coolroom will need to advise this on application and at interview stage. This will assist in making arrangements for the parking of such coolrooms & access to additional power usage. Coolrooms operating off generators or vehicle engines are prohibited.
Each stall has access to limited power – please itemise cooking equipment & other electrical equipment you intend to use in your application above.

Season fees must be paid in advance by direct debit. Late payment of fees may result in withdrawal of the License offer or interest being charged.
