Nova Style Challenge 2007
An official Motorola Melbourne Spring Fashion Week event
On Sunday September 9, NOVA 100 and Queen Victoria Market challenged all budding fashionistas – could they take $200* and 60 minutes to scour the Market and create a funky ensemble fit for the catwalk?
And what a HUGE response we got! With over 70 contestants vying for the 10 lucky spots the NOVA Style Challenge was going to be HUGE!
With a bit of help from Amanda Lee and the NOVA Casanovas, 10 people were chosen, given $200* and sent out to put together their winning look in 60 mins.
The challenge was on and the competition was fierce!
A few savvy contestants had already done some pre-event research. Others haggled and bargained their way around the Market. Other chose to wing it on the day. Everyone had their own approach and all returned with fantastic looks at bargain prices!
After much deliberation by our stylish panel of judges – Susan Bugg, Editor of Herald Sun’s City Style, Channel 9’s Brodie Harper and NOVA’s own Princess Chloe Chloe a winner was finally announced.
Congratulations to Mahar Supribadi – our NOVA Style Challenge winner for 2007!

Before.... After....
Mahar – like all of the 10 contestants - walked away with the $200 outfit he put together. He also won first prize of $1,000*!
When it comes to fashion, Queen Victoria Market is a treasure trove of clothing and accessories at amazing prices – perfect for fashionistas on a limited budget! Just about any look can be achieved when you have an eye for creativity… the question is - are you up for the challenge?
