Bosc Pears

These poached pears have lots of uses. For a lazy Sunday breakfast, top fluffy hotcakes with the poached pears and some whipped cream for a decadent dessert.

Bosc Pear Recipe


4 beurre bosc pears (The Fresh Pear Fruit Supply, Stall 20, B Shed)
1 cup sugar (Nut Trek, Shop 55-56, Dairy Hall)
3 cups water
2 cinnamon sticks (Nut Trek, Shop 55-56, Dairy Hall)


Peel and thickly slice the pears.

Place the sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add the sliced pears and the cinnamon sticks, and simmer for 15 minutes until the pears are tender.

Cool and serve.
