Werribee Men’s Shed Pop Up Stall

This Friday 13th and Saturday 14th June join the blokes from the Werribee Men’s Shed on the corner of Victoria and Therry Streets as they showcase their hand crafted wares and raise much needed funds for their Shed.

The Werribee Men’s Shed provides a safe, friendly, and inviting environment for blokes to come together and share skills and experiences. The Shed movement has boomed across Australia in recent years and there are now well over a thousand sheds set up across Australia. Most of their members are not active in the workforce either through choice or circumstance and the Sheds movement provide much needed social support for men who find themselves isolated in our community.

The Werribee Men’s shed have a woodworking room complete with some serious pieces of machinery. A metal workshop equipped with a lathe and mig and arc welders and also a  bicycle recycling centre. They also have wood turning facilities and a great vegetable garden, so you’re sure to find some interesting products at the pop up stall.

Mens Shed’s receive no ongoing funding and are always fundraising to pay the bills. Come along during these two days and have a look at the creative output of the group.

The Shed also have a women’s group called the Kookaburra Girls who get together for a laugh while creating art works through their Sheddies Social Club.
