The Australian cherry season is here – get them while they’re fresh!

The Australian cherry season lasts 100 days from November to February -­ Australian cherries are grown in six states with New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania being the largest producers. Cherries aren’t just for Christmas – they’re a great everyday part of a balanced and healthy lifestyle, perfect for breakfast, fruit salads or just snacking on! Share them with your friends and familyor just enjoy them to yourself!

To celebrate the start of the cherry season and to encourage families to play together this summer, Australian Cherries has revived the playful childhood memory of cherry seed spitting and created a board game called ‘Spit Or Miss’. The limited edition ‘Spit ofr Miss’ game is available free with purchases of Australian cherries from Market stall holders and via the Aussie Cherries Facebook.

Market shoppers can participate in the Pip Spitting fun on Friday to win a number of prizes, with the first prize a cherry red Kitchen Aid! Heats start at 10.30am with the finals at 12.30pm! Look for the bright red cherry lane on Queen St!
