This Sunday (23 March) celebrate Turkish culture at the Turkish Pazar Festival on Queen St this Sunday (Pazar is Turkish for both bazaar and Sunday).
Join us for the 7th year in a celebration of fun amongst the variety of traditional Turkish music and folklore performances. Browse the traditional arts and crafts and even plan your next trip to Turkey – or at the very least you can eat your way there by tasting traditional foods including everybody’s favorite gözleme. You’ll even be able buy a magic Turkish carpet to take home!
Watch the military procession of the colourful Mehteran – the first Ottoman style marching band established outside Turkey. Hear traditional Turkish stories and don’t miss out on the opportunity to have your fortune told over a Turkish coffee in a traditional Turkish tea garden.
And for those who need a helping hand to start their day, the Moreland Turkish Association is hosting the Grandfoods Traditional Turkish Breakfast at 10.30am. Participants will be treated to a sitdown breakfast banquet while also learning about Turkish breakfast culture and learn new things about the foods.
*Places are limited for the breakfast and must be pre-booked. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a place.
