Hot Stuff to do in Melbourne with Padre Coffee at Queen Vic Market!

We’re delighted to tell you that we’re taking part in the second round of the City of Melbourne’s Look Stop Shop campaign. Curated by the unstoppable team over at Three Thousand, the Winter 2013 edition of Look Stop Shop is made up of wonderful events across some of the city’s favourite venues and retailers, all united by the ‘hot stuff’ theme.

Here at Padre Coffee, hot stuff is what you might call our speciality. So this time round, we’ve invited some friends to help showcase and explore the very best hot drinks that Melbourne has to offer. We’ll be running a series of tastings and talks Friday evenings through July. The venue will be our cosy container café at the Queen Victoria Market – if you haven’t already been, it’s a great little space and will be kept warm with heaters, blankets and the like.

Friday 5th July, 5 – 6pm : Our guest is Julie Jansen, Padre’s very own home economist and author of the super (and super simple) Apricots & Apron Strings cookbook.

Friday 12th July, 5 – 6pm : single origin artisan hot chocolate from legendary chocolateirs (and neighbours of ours) Monsieur Truffe.

Friday 19th July, 5 – 6pm : the art of fresh, authentic masala chai with Prana Chai’s Vincent & Mario.

Stop by for a cosy chat and a look into the origins, production and preparation of these quintessentially winter drinks, and for more information on these and the many other events check out the Look Stop Shop guide.

Padre Coffee is located in String Bean Alley – Peel Street end of M Shed (near the Market Car Park).
