The Queen Victoria Market Precinct Renewal Project is entering its next important phase with the finalisation of the Master Plan.
In March, we released the Queen Victoria Precinct Renewal Draft Master Plan for community engagement. The Draft Master Plan was informed by what the community—traders, shoppers, residents and visitors—told us during the previous phases of community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts during this phase of community engagement. We received an overwhelming amount of feedback with 4380 people participating in engagement activities and 1120 surveys completed.
This feedback has informed the development of the Final Draft Queen Victoria Market Precinct Renewal Master Plan, which is now available to view on the City of Melbourne’s online engagement hub Participate Melbourne from Wednesday 10 June to Friday 10 July.
Once the Master Plan has been considered by Council, we will begin developing an Implementation Strategy. The Implementation Strategy will scope the projects and outline proposed staging of improvement works identified in the Master Plan. We will work closely with traders and other key stakeholders throughout this process.
A report summarising community engagement activities and findings is also available online at Participate Melbourne.
