The Board of Management of the Queen Victoria Market Pty Ltd are pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Cochrane-Harry as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Ms Cochrane-Harry has a strong background in managing organisations involving multiple stakeholders across the community, government and private sectors.
Chair of the Board, Mr Paul Guerra, said that the appointment of Ms Cochrane-Harry came at an important time for the market.

“Jan’s career, spanning over thirty years, has seen her lead many complex engagement, consultation and management processes when major changes or transformations have faced businesses and communities,” Mr Guerra added.
Ms Cochrane-Harry has managed the financial and staff resources of businesses including Marriner Theatres, Perpetual Philanthropic Services, and, Melbourne Business School Marketing department. She was head of marketing and deputy CEO of Tourism Victoria for 6 years, overseeing the successful You’ll Love Every Piece of Victoria campaign.
Ms Cochrane-Harry has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne and is a qualified and nationally accredited Mediator. She is a Trustee of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, and Chair of the Margaret Lawrence Bequest. She is also a director of the Australian Women Donor’s Network.
