The Bread Box has been an institution in the Market for over 40 years known, for their fine artisan bread, outstanding service and even better croissants and muffins that are baked onsite every morning! Bread Box is Queen Vic’s favourite Specialty Food Trader for 2014 and while eating some of their famous croissants we had a quick catch up.
What do you sell at the Bread Box?
Vast variety of fresh breads, baguettes and pastries.
What is your stand-out/favourite item you sell?
Homemade muffins and croissants which are both baked on premises.
How long have you been trading at the Market?
The family business has been trading for 40 years, but we have been personally running it for the last 13 years.
What do you love most about market life?
All the different and interesting personalities you come across on a daily basis.
That early morning ‘freshness’ at the beginning of the day.
Establishing relationships with people who come through the market.
As a creative stallholder at the Market, where do you get your inspiration from?
From the market itself.
Being around that feeling of ‘freshness’/fresh food that tantalises the senses.
Where are your favourite places to shop at the Market?
I love going into the meat hall on a Saturday afternoon for the atmosphere even if I don’t need anything.
I regularly go to Hellenic deli for my olives.
I always grab my coffee from Coffea Coffee and I love to grab a wrap for my lunch m
