We chat to Marshall to find out more about ReWine.
QVM: So we notice there’s big wine barrels not lots of wine bottles here Marshall. What’s the go?
What we do is source grapes from over 12 different vineyards and then take full responsibility for blending and aging to create a selection of quality Australian blended wines for ReWine customers at the Market.
We sell direct from the barrel into a bottle. And you can try before you buy of course.
QVM: So are you a wine maker too?
I guess you could call me a Wine Merchant – the French call it Negociant – it really is the best job description. This covers the role of sourcing the different grapes and then blending and aging the wine.
QVM: So you’d know a fair bit about what wine goes with food or how to help a customer select a wine?
Absolutely. We love helping customers at the Market, offering advice and of course tastings are important too. My whole family are involved with the business, so we all love to share our knowledge with customers looking for something a bit different.
QVM: So working at the Market, you must have some tips for shopping?
We love the fresh produce and you can’t beet the historic Deli Hall, or the fresh seafood and meat. And for a tip from ReWine, those in the know refill at great discount and also enjoy a positive contribution to the environment by recycling their bottles!
